Our Mission is to promote exemplary teaching strategies, practices, programs and models that support students becoming caring, responsible and active members of their communities.

We Provide Resources for Educators that include Curriculum Exemplars and Tools, Publications and Technical Assistance,

We Offer Specialized Support and Training to assist educators in integrating Community-Based Education and Service-Learning. We also provide support for Curriculum Documentation and Student Publications. Community Works associates are veteran educators and trainers.

We work with individual schools and districts, and with regional programs and organizations.

Affiliations:
Community Works is member of Orions Grassroots Network, and a founding member of The National Service-Learning Partnership supported by Learning In Deed and the Kellogg Foundation. Community Works' associates have served as participants in the National Technical Advisory Group, the National Service-Learning Assessment Network, and similar efforts on a national basis. Community Works has also contributed resources to the Education Commission of the States’ Compact for Learning and Citizenship.

National Events:
Community Works associates have presented workshops and shared programs nationally and regionally on a regular basis since 1993. Staff have conducted numerous workshops for regional and national organizations, including the following: Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Foxfire National Conference, National Conference on Service-Learning, Governor’s Conference on Prevention, Improving America’s Schools Conference, National Large Scale Assessment Conference, and National Service-Learning and Assessment Conferences.
